Notes for Donald Vincent Guetterman

Donald V. Guetterman, 80, of Belleville, Illinois, born November 2, 1936 in Belleville, Illinois, passed away, Thursday, January 12, 2017 at home.

Don was a farmer and professional drummer. He was an active member of the St. Clair county Farm Bureau and Musicians Local 29 in Illinois and Local 2 in Missouri; until he retired in 1985. Don honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had many interests and hobbies; including, model trains, radio controlled cars, trucks, boats, and helicopters. He also enjoyed camping and family outings, where he continued with his music by teaching and mentoring his grandchildren in the art of playing the guitar, keyboards and drums. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, who will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Josephine Guetterman; his parents, Vincent and Ottilia, nee Berger, Guetterman; a sister, Rosemary Falconer; and two brothers-in-law, Jack Falconer and William Adrian.

Surviving are his loving wife of over 54 years, Loretta T. Guetterman, nee Martin; his two children, Donna “Kris” (Bill) Wise and Nicholas P. Guetterman; three grandchildren, Scott A. Wise, Brandon L. Wise and Miranda N. Wise; a great grandson, Leon; a brother, Raymond (Audrey) Guetterman; a sister, Cecilia Adrian; four nieces, a nephew; and many great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation: Friends may call from 12 Noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the funeral home with Monsignor Schaefer officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
