Charles M. Guetterman, 91, of Belleville, IL, born March 20, 1925 in New Athens Township, IL, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his residence.
Mr. Guetterman worked as a coal miner and also was a self-employed at Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration. Charles was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran, purple heart and bronze star recipient.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles E. “Chuck” Guetterman; his parents, Fred and Catherine, nee Holtgrave, Guetterman; six sisters, Marceline Guetterman, Betty Voellinger, Anita Graham, Sister Marceline (Helen) Guetterman, Ruth Kelso, and Mary “Marie” Kern; and four brothers, Daniel, Herbert, Fred, and Paul Guetterman.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ethel, nee Stitzel, Guetterman, whom he married on July 16, 1958; four children, Karen Behrmann, Jane (Daniel) Kish, Beth Hill, and Robert (Gabriella) Guetterman; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Stephen) Basham, Danielle Kish, Austin Guetterman, Eric Hill, Cory Hill, Kayli Hill, and Andrew and Bobby Behrmann.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Mark Reyling officiating.

Burial with military honors will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
