Notes for Daniel "Danny" Lee Guetterman


This information is restricted, but it's available upon request to related family members.Daniel L. Guetterman has been farming in northeast Kansas since 1969. After graduating from Louisburg High School, he and his three brothers formed Guetterman Brothers Farms. In 1978 they built a grain elevator in Bucyrus and formed Guetterman Brothers Elevator. Some of his duties consisted of buying and selling grain, fertilizer, seed and chemicals. After farming approximately 7000 acres for 30 years Danny became the owner/operator of DKG Farms, Inc. His new operation consists of 450 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat. Danny served nine years on the board of the Kansas Soybean Association and is currently serving his fourth year on the Kansas Corn Commission as treasurer. Danny is married to Katherine and they have three children, Jessica, Leigh and Mitch.

September, 1999 - Governor Makes Corn Commission Appointments: Kansas Governor Bill Graves in August announced the appointment of two and the reappointment of five members to the three grain commodity commissions. The Governor appointed Bob Timmons, Fredonia to represent the 9th District, which is located in southeast Kansas. Ken McCauley, White Cloud was reappointed to represent the 7th District, located in northeast Kansas. Dan Guetterman, Bucyrus, was reappointed to represent the 8th District in east central Kansas. The Governor reappointed Jeff Casten, Quenemo; Dwayne DeTar, Coffeyville, and Stanley Schmitz, Seneca, to the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission. Harold Kraus, Hays was appointed to the Kansas Soybean Commission. Each member of the grain commodity commissions will serve a four-year term, expiring June 2003.

Daniel L. Guetterman attended the National Corn Growers Association's (NCGA) two-day meeting in Wachington, D.C., July 22-23, 2002. Dan was a voting delegate.

As of 2002, Dan was living near Bucyrus, Kansas.
