Leuie Joseph (Sr.) Eck was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during WW1. He fought in the trenches of Europe and was exposed to poison gas attacks that damage his lungs. As he grew older the damage to his lungs became more apparent in affecting his health.

Hobbies: Played the mandolin and twelve-string guitar.
Cause of death: Heart attack - Cardiovascular nephritis.
Burial: Grace Lawn Cemetery, Edmond, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.
