After the wedding, Peter Boniface Karnowski wore the same suit on special occasions for the next 25 years. Maybelle's Aunt Dora (Norris) Shrewsbury made her wedding dress.

Maybelle went to work at 14 years old, and was a good worker. Peter worked for a starch company and when they were going together, they often went to stage shows and her diary reflects some of the shows they saw together.
